CRJ200 stripped with Greensolv 274C
Coating System & Substrate
- Epoxy primer.
- Polyurethane top coat.
- Average thickness : 6 mils.
- Substrate : Aluminium, some high strength steel rivets.
Reason for stripping
- Changing the paint scheme for a new owner.
Application
- Total of 200 kg (1.1 drums) of Greensolv 274C sprayed on the aircraft in 4 applications with an airless pump (20:1).
- Temperature : 25-30°C (77-86°F).
Results
- Aircraft completly stripped to bare metal in 10 hours (from application to unmasking).
- CRJ200 was stripped with a total of 4 workers.
Conclusion
- Aircraft was stripped rapidly and efficiently over night.
- Leaves a shiny aluminium substrate.
- No scrapping was necessary.
