GLOBAL EXPRESS stripped with Greensolv 274C
Coating System & Substrate
- Epoxy primer.
- Polyurethane top coat.
- Average thickness : 12 mils.
- Substrate : mainly aluminium, titanium & high strength steel.
Reason for stripping
- Changing the paint scheme for a new owner.
Application
- Total of 240 kg (1.3 drums) of Greensolv 274C sprayed on the aircraft in 4 applications with an airless pump (20:1).
- Temperature : 25-30°C (77-86°F).
Results
- Aircraft completly stripped to bare metal in 14 hours (from application to unmasking).
- Global Express was stripped with a total of 3 workers.
Conclusion
- Stripping procedure started in the evening and was completed the next morning.
- No damage on the precious titanium tail cone.
- No scrapping was necessary.
