Traffic deck membrane removal with Greensolv 273M
Membrane type & Substrate
- Neoprene primer.
- Coal Tar epoxy.
- Thickness : 60 to 160 mils.
- Substrate : concrete.
Reason for stripping
- After several years of use, the traffic deck membrane needed to be changed in order to prevent the water from infiltrating the concrete.
Application
- 20kg per 30m² / 5 Gal. per 300 sq.ft (28 mils).
- 1 application of Greensolv 273M covered with a plastic sheet.
- Removal of the membrane with a scraper, then a surface preparation is required.
Results
- 57,000 sq.ft. of traffic deck membrane were removed in 30 days.
- Only small sections of the parking were closed at any time during the repairs.
- Removal up to 5000 sq.ft. a day with 4 workers.
Conclusion
- Did not damage the concrete.
- No water.
- Most cost effective method.
- Rapid stripping procedure.
