Passenger train car stripped with Greensolv 273D
Coating System & Substrate
- Catalyzed epoxy primer.
- Catalyzed polyurethane topcoat.
- Coating system was 25 years old.
- Substrate: aluminum.
Reason for stripping
- Complete refurbishing (inside and outside).
Application
- Total of 120 kg (37.5 Gal.) of Greensolv 273D were used.
- Only 1 application.
- Temperature : 28°C (82°F).
Results
- The coating system was stripped during an overnight process (16 hours).
- The train car was washed with a high pressure water V jet of 3000 psi.
Conclusion
- Most cost effective method to strip a train car.
- Did not damage aluminum.
- Rapid stripping procedure.
